The Right Cup

FAQ

How does it actually work?

The Right Cup uses the intimate relationship between our senses of smell and taste.

The human tongue can only sense 5 tastes: sweet, bitter, sour, salty and umami. The overall taste experience is a result of the interaction between these tastes and the sense of smell. It is estimated that the sense of smell is responsible for approximately 80% of the experience of flavor .

When we eat or drink, volatile aromas are released from the food. These aromas travel from our mouth and nose, past the sinuses, until they reach the nasal epithelium. Then, a message is sent from the epithelium to the olfactory bulb in the brain, saying that the aromas are in fact tastes.

The Rgith Cup™ uses natural fruit aroma combined with a patented sweet taste technology. When you drink from the cup, your nose picks up the aroma and your tongue gets a hint of a sweet taste. Thus your brain perceives plain water as a flavored drink..
